Use jersey needles for knitted fabrics like jersey, ajour, bouclé, cotton knitwear, reversible, travelfabric, faux fur/ funfur or imitation fur, sweatshirt fabric, tulle, gauze, etcetera
The medium ballpoint tip displaces the loops and prevents material damage. The needle size should be adapted to the material

TIP: a needle has a lifespan of 8 hours, after which the tip is worn out.

This does not mean that you need to reaplace the needle after a day. Think of it this way: when you engage the footpedal of your machine and keep it operating for 8 hours straight, the needle needs to be replaced.
