Why order from Beauty VoF?

  1. Freudenberg Vilene: We only sell genuine Vilene — the “Mercedes” of interlinings. It keeps its quality and appearance, even after many washes.
  2. Wide assortment: Besides authentic Vilene, we also offer special interlinings such as fusible canvas, hair canvas, bridal laminate, and fusible interfacing for leather and sensitive fabrics.
  3. Service: Order your Vilene by the meter or take advantage of attractive prices per roll.

What do you use interfacing for?

With vilene interfacing © and interfacing, you reinforce fabric to then make clothing, bags, quilts, interior decoration and more. If you make clothing, you will usually apply it to the small pattern parts such as collars, facings, pocket openings, pocket flaps, etc.

You do this so that the fabric no longer frays and sags or stretches. If you make buttonholes in an unlined fabric, for example, you will see that they stretch out or are pulled out of shape faster due to the constant opening and closing. It also works that way with the pocket opening. For collars and flaps, etc., you use the reinforcement more to maintain the shape or to make the collar stand up

If you make a coat or jacket, blazer or suit, you can also choose to apply interfacing to your front panel. Also depends on the chosen fabric and the model

Buy vilene interfacing

With an extensive vilene interfacing © and interling range, we are happy to meet all your vilene interfacing wishes. Whether you are looking for a fusible or adhesive vilene interfacing or prefer a plastron horsehair cloth to sew onto your fabric, we have it all

From thin, supple vilene interfacing for your blouse to heavier reinforcement for sturdy fabrics. And from vilene interfacings that are specially made for delicate fabrics with a low melting point to vilene interfacing for bags that are much sturdier, we have what you need

Many vilene interfacings are non-woven, which means that they are not woven but produced from, mostly polyester, fibers. The advantage is that you do not have to follow a thread direction, the disadvantage is that they are always made of "plastic". And if, like us, you prefer natural raw materials, then you prefer to choose the woven cotton interfacing or one of the natural adhesive interlinings. Practically all adhesive vilene interfacing have a dot coating nowadays, except of course for the sew-in vilene interfacings. These have no coating and are sewn into the seam or sewn onto the fabric by hand. As tailors have been doing since the beginning of time

Why choose a vilene interfacing without an adhesive layer? If your fabric is irregular and gluing does not give the right result, choose a sewable interlining. Or if you just want to use the old-fashioned tailor's technique for your blazer

vilene interfacing on a roll or a larger number of meters are cheaper

If you want to buy a little more vilene interfacing at once, you can opt for a whole roll. With vilene interfacing, most rolls are 25m. With other interfacings, but also with the vilene interfacing per meter, we have tier prices. That means that you pay a lower price per meter for more meters, that's not bad! You can find the tier prices with every vilene interfacing or interling

Instructions for use vilene interfacing, how to iron vilene interfacing on

With every vilene interfacing type in our shop you will find a PDF in the attachment with all the information of this type. You can view it online or print it out and keep it with your vilene interfacing, so you have it at hand next time

The basics of ironing on vilene interfacing in short

  1. Ironing on vilene interfacing is done step by step and not by ironing with the iron

  2. Take your time, apply the vilene interfacing according to the specified time and the correct temperature

  3. Let the vilene interfacing cool completely before you move it so that the glue can adhere well to the fabric

  4. Check whether your vilene interfacing needs to be applied dry or with moisture

  5. Use a pressing cloth because especially thin vilene interfacings want to stick to your iron, also useful if you accidentally put it with the wrong side up...

  6. Which side of the vilene interfacing has the glue? You can best feel this, the rough side has the glue
