Why choose Polyquick?
Polyquick is specially developed for heavier projects and offers a firm yet natural drape. It is an excellent substitute for traditional hair canvas and is particularly popular in men's tailoring. Thanks to the cotton and viscose blend, this fusible interfacing is breathable and highly suitable for individuals with allergies to synthetic fibers.
Tailor's Tip: Always test the interfacing on a scrap piece of your fabric first to determine the correct temperature and pressure for your iron to ensure optimal results.
Origin & Dimensions
This natural fusible interfacing is carefully produced in the Netherlands, guaranteeing a high-quality finish and a lower ecological footprint.
Application Advice & Tips
For the best results with Polyquick Black, follow these steps:
-
Preparation: Place the side with the adhesive dots onto the wrong side (the 'back') of your fabric
-
Fixing: Use an iron at a medium setting (wool/cotton, approx. 115-130°C) with a pressure of 300-500 g/m²
-
Pressing: Press using a damp cloth or use the steam function. Place the iron down step-by-step, holding it firmly in place for 10 to 12 seconds at a time. Do not glide; instead, lift the iron and move it to the next section
-
Cooling Down: This is the most important step! Allow the pieces to lay flat and cool for approximately 20 to 30 minutes after fusing. This allows the adhesive to set properly, ensuring a bond that remains strong even after intensive wear
