Schmetz Super Universal Needles have a special non stick layer made from Nickel-Phosphorusr-PFTE or: TEFLON. This layer prevents glue residue from sticking to your needle and therefore it prevents threadbreak. 

Another advantage of the Super Universal Sewingmachine needle: the larger needle eye! It's eye is bigger than with normal needles but not as big as the topstitching needles eye.
