Two ways zip are usually used in coats.

Block tooth means that the teeth of the zip are indivdually attached to the tape, neatly in a line.
This kind of zipper looks to have more body than the spiral zip and is therefore used more in robust fashion.

The block tooth zip has plastic teeth, the pullers are metal and painted in the same color then the tape and teeth.
